Add Overlays in Videos

Overlays are small text boxes that appear on the lower third of your screen, hence the name "lower third." They are used to reinforce key points and keywords, making the information stickier for viewers.

Traditionally, creating overlays has been a cumbersome process. You'd either need the help of video professionals or have to navigate complicated video editing software. Both options are time-consuming and often costly. With Parmonic, the process takes seconds.

Benefits of Overlays

  1. Reinforcement of Key Points: Overlays can emphasize important messages, making them more memorable.

  1. Visual Appeal: They add a layer of professionalism and can make your video more visually engaging.

  1. Ease of Understanding: They help viewers follow along, especially in content-heavy videos.

How to Add Overlays in Videos?

Step 1: Go to the 'Review' tab in your account and click on the 'Enhance' button the moment you want to add an overlay.

Step 2: You'll see the existing overlays highlighted in grey. To add a new overlay, select the text (it will be highlighted in light blue) and click on 'Overlay'

Step 3: Add your brand settings or choose from the existing templates. You can preview the overlay and hit OK when it's ready and then publish the moment.

Here's the result:

The Overlay should be on screen for at least 5 seconds so viewers can read it. Make sure you highlight at least 10 or so words while applying an Overlay otherwise you will get an error.

In the beta release you'll need to choose your brand colors. In an upcoming update, the system will remember your brand/previously-used colors.
